WOW! A blog about Sylvia and the Synthetics? I was one of the original members (and one of the only two women with REAL vaginas in the group) and performed in the shows at the disused butcher shop on Frenchman's Rd, then progressed to that place in Taylor Square, then the "pinnacle" shows at the Purple Onion (thanks for the venue, Kandy!!) and watched it all go sadly too mainstream at Paddington Town Hall. Ahhhhh....memories, memories....
and I was at The All Senses Ball in Canberra. Burned into my brain is the image of Miss Aboud flinging his long dong like a lasoo at the finale of Paul Kantner's "Silver Spoon"..i was sitting on the floor nest to a giggling Wendy Saddington who was wearing a black & white check twin set with matching beret. ha!
